Art Studio Tour Begins at Halle

Great opening at the Halle last Friday!

Everyone had a great time at last Friday’s opening at the Halle! A good crowd, live music by jazz guitarist Eli Wittmann, food by Whole Foods, Great Harvest, and La Farm. Three lucky raffle winners went home with gourmet gift baskets from Whole Foods and La Farm and a beautiful flower arrangement from Blossom Shop Florist. Thank you to all our sponsors for the donated items, to the wonderful staff at the Halle – Mimi and Amy, we couldn’t have done it without you! – and to everyone who came out to see the show. Here are some pictures. For those who missed the show, it will be up until Oct. 26.

A Peek at Deborah Younglao’s Studio, WWAST 2011

I am a silk painter – I paint on silk with dyes. My creations become either wearable art or wall art.

My working studio is upstairs but it isn’t big enough to hold everything, so for the studio tour, our downstairs living area  was transformed into a silk art gallery. That gave visitors plenty of room to move around and browse.

Here’s my set up –

Scarves were the first thing you saw as you came in the door

Plus a table of mini-paintings

The family room

My demo table with a piece of silk stretched on my painting frame. Visitors enjoyed watching a little painting on silk in action. To the left is a digital frame which showed a slide show of my paintings in a continous loop.

Down the passageway…

… and in to the dining room. On the table are prints, notecards and brochures.

And there you have it – I hope you enjoyed this mini tour! Come visit me for WWAST 2012… I’m #18 on the brochure map.

You can see more of my work on my website.
